5 Reasons To Visit Long Beach This Summer

Avatar

When planning your summer vacations, many popular Californian destinations may pop into your head – San Francisco, Hollywood, San Diego, Palm Springs. While all these locations are quite beautiful and worth visiting, they’re likely to be overcrowded, full of tourist traps, and over priced. We may be a bit biased, but we believe one of the best destinations you should visit this Summer is Long Beach and here is why:

The Restaurants

Long Beach has countless restaurants that are so unique and so delicious that you can find them on many food blogs and websites such as BuzzFeed, INSIDER, and more! Whether you’re dining out for breakfast, lunch, or dinner there is a multitude of choice. Check out our favorite brunch spots in Long Beach.

The Night Life

If you came here to put on your party shoes, you chose the right city. Long Beach has all the nightlife fun of Los Angeles but at a fraction of the price. You can choose from an array of dive bars, gay bars, clubs, whiskey bars, and lounges. Head to Pine Ave. in Downtown Long Beach for a line of clubs down the street, one right after another. One of our favorites here is the Federal Bar, located inside an old 1920s bank building, with a club underground in the vault.

 The Events

Long Beach has many fun and exciting events throughout the summer for people of all ages. This past weekend, Long Beach held a reggae festival, along with Agenda Festival with performances by Ludacris and Tyler the Creator, and Sunsoaked, a beach party with world famous DJ, Kaskade spinning to over 13,000 people, dancing under the sun and on the sand. In addition to this, there are many more events planned for the rest of the summer.

The Views

Long Beach has some of Southern California’s most spectacular views. With views stretching as far as Downtown LA (on a good day), Santa Catalina Island, Orange County, and the San Gabriel Mountains. If you’re looking for the best place to witness these views first hand, we suggest Hilltop Park in Signal Hill. Even if you’re not on top of a building or a hill, just driving down Ocean Blvd, you’ll experience breathtaking views of the ocean atop of a bluff with gorgeous homes you’ll envy.

The Hotels

Now, what is a vacation without a fabulous hotel stay? No matter what your budget is, we’re sure you’ll find a hotel that is just right for you. The Westin, Hyatt, and Hilton in downtown are some of Long Beach’s most famous, being centrally located and its beautiful views. You can also feel like you’re traveling back in the 1900s by staying abroad the iconic Queen Mary. If you want to experience Long Beach like a local, try staying in an Airbnb. There are hundreds of beautiful apartments that you can rent, sometimes at a fraction of the cost of a hotel room, and pretend like you’re a resident of this gorgeous city.
