Our Top Picks for DINE LBC 2018

Avatar

DINE LBC has officially returned! Starting on August 4th, and running until the 12th, take advantage of some value-oriented menu deals all around the city. Here’s how it works, straight from their website:

Each participating restaurant offers a three course menu priced at $15, $25, $35, $45, $55 or $65, either per guest with wine pairing options at fine dining locations OR dinner for two priced at $25, $35, $45, $55 or $65, where diners share an appetizer, each enjoy their own entree, then share a dessert at more casual establishments.

We’ve taken the liberty of selecting some of our top dining options for this year’s official Long Beach Restaurant Week.

Aji Peruvian Cuisine

If you’ve never had Peruvian food, Dine LBC is the time to try it! Visit Aji on Retro Row, to sample authentic Peruvian Ceviche and Lomo Saltado (Sautéed beef tenderloin, onions, tomatoes, cilantro, hand cut fries and steamed rice).

Sura Korean BBQ & Tofu House

The city’s one-and-only true Korean restaurant also happens to have a full vegan menu. Owners, Brandon & Claire Sugano, took over Sura Korean BBQ from Claire’s mother. They kept the traditional Korean dishes, and added a wide range of fusion options to modernize it a bit. Order the Vegan Kimbab and Ddukbokki to start. Next, try the Vegan Tofu Hot Stone Bibimbap and a scalding hot bowl of Vegan Tofu Soup. Round out your meal with a macaron ice-cream sandwich and a one liter soju cocktail. Sounds like the perfect night, if you ask us.

Restauration

Farm-to-table is taken quite literally at Restauration. Chef Philip Pretty has partnered up with local urban farm, Organic Harvest Gardens, to offer diners a truly local experience. Snag a seat on the dog-friendly patio and order a glass of some of the best sangria in the city, to start. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Beach City Food Tours

If you still haven’t taken Long Beach’s #1 food tour, it’s about time you did! Why would you eat at one restaurant, when you could hit 6 in just 3 hours. Each guest walks away with a signature #BEACHCITYFOOD canvas tote and coupon booklet. You’ll be surprised how much even the most seasoned of locals have learned on the tour. Starting today, save 15% on ALL tours until, Aug 12th. Just use promo code: DINELBC2018 at checkout. Gift cards included!

4th & Olive

The county’s only Alsatian restaurant happens to be nestled along 4th Street in the East Village. The food is truly local and second to none. Everything is made from scratch, including their fresh baked pretzels. Not only is the food phenomenal, but Navy Veteran and owner, Daniel Tapia, is committed to hiring disabled veterans, like himself.

The Attic on Broadway

The Attic has been a long time Belmont Heights hot-spot, and it’s definitely not slowing down any time soon. Choose from a variety of Cajun-inspired dishes, and pair them with your favorite craft cocktails. You know we’re going to tell you to get the Mac N’ Cheetos….so just do it.

The Federal Bar

Dine in history. Step back in time to the Roaring Twenties. The Federal Bar sits inside the old Security Trust and Savings Bank building, originally built in 1924. Once inside, let Chef Tia’s menu transport you around the world. Don’t skimp out on the cocktails, they’re worth the visit, alone.

Rance’s Chicago Pizza

Looking for authentic Chicago-style deep dish in SoCal? Head to Rance’s for the cheesiest pizza, this side of the rockies. Take one look at the staggering number of #cheesepulls on their Instagram page, and try not to drool. The hard part will be waiting until Aug 4th for the menu to drop.

555 East American Steakhouse

Treat yourself with a night out in the East Village at the 555 East. Splurge on the $85 Special Chef’s Menu. Choose an appetizer, soup or salad, entrée and dessert. We recommend the Organic Mary’s Chicken, or the USDA Prime Filet Mignon “Oscar Style,” with lump crab, asparagus and hollandaise.

What about the dogs???

Don’t worry, dog lovers! Dine LBC has got you covered. Here’s a list of participating restaurants that will also be serving a little something on the side for your canine BFF.

If you get lucky, you might just spot #DineLBCmascot, Frankie, enjoying a chicken breast on one of the participating patios.
