The iconic Art Theatre on Long Beach’s Retro Row is proud to present the documentary Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood beginning September 10. The film is a portrait of unsung legend Scotty Bowers, a WWII Veteran whose bestselling memoir titled Full Service chronicled his decades spent as sexual procurer to the stars following the war. Director Matt Tyrnauer presents Bowers as an intriguing and interesting character while looking back at old Hollywood’s stigma associated with being “out”.

Following the 6pm screening on September 14, The Art Theatre will host a Q&A session with Bowers and director Tyrnauer. Now 95 years old, Bowers is expected to delight the film audience by expanding on his tales of becoming the “pimp” of gay and lesbian Hollywood purely by happenstance following WWII, in which famous movie stars lived lives that were very different from their public personae, calling on the services provided by Bowers.

The Art Theatre is located at 2025 E. 4th Street in Long Beach. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit The Art Theatre WEBSITE or TICKET PORTAL.
