Absolute Best Of is hosting an award ceremony that shows Long Beach’s very best the appreciation they deserve. These businesses work hard to have an influence in their community, so we would like to give them a moment to be the stars for one whimsical night.
With inaugurations for local businesses that started last Saturday and last til March 12, Long Beach residents have already set in over 10,000 nominations with over 500 nominees to be in the Absolute Best of award show hosted by Long Beach Living. The annual one-night event takes on a different theme every year, this year’s theme being “Fantasy Wonderland.” We encourage attendees to show up in their best costumes ready to enjoy an extravagant party and a world of pure imagination that’ll make its mark on Long Beach.
“In the past, we have had fire dancers, Burning Man art cars, interactive art installations, aerialists, magicians, singers, dancers, circus acts, a freak show… every year is different and we theme it differently to get people excited so it’s always a lot of fun,” CEO of LB Living Sal Flores-Trimble said. Whether you’re Bigfoot, a fairy, or a magical creature of your own creation, immerse yourself in the party’s endless amount of entertainment.
Although other companies have done things to celebrate local businesses in the past, LB Living is the only company to make an ordeal out of it and give thanks to the businesses that are the backbone of Long Beach’s community. “Even though other publications try to do similar “Best of” competitions, nobody gives these businesses a true celebration,” Flores-Trimble said. The event became so popular that throughout the year people contact LB Living counting the days and eagerly wait for it to make its way to Long Beach again.
The Absolute Best of Long Beach has made such a mark on the community every year, that the city, our state Senator and even our Congressman have gotten involved and have offered their support for the event and provided certificates for the businesses that are featured. “It has become more of a community event as opposed to just a popularity contest. Everybody deserves their 15 minutes of fame and this is an opportunity for that,” Flores said.
As of now until March 12 you can vote for your favorite businesses in each of our different categories up to 10 times a day till the votes are narrowed down to Long Beach’s top choice for each of those categories. The celebration and awards show will take place at the Museum of Latin American Art on Mar. 31. Tickets range from $30 for general entrance to $70 for VIP access which includes a VIP food and bar selection, special seating, and a cocktail or beer of your choice.
