Axiom Kitchen Smoked Meats & BBQ, in collaboration with local BBQ vendors, will host a special event to provide a multi-course BBQ lunch for over 250 homeless individuals at the Long Beach Rescue Mission on Tuesday, May 30. This initiative aims to extend the celebration of National BBQ Month to those who were unable to attend the recent Long Beach BBQ Fest.

Following the resounding success of the inaugural Long Beach BBQ Fest that occurred May 13, Qiana and Ian Mafnas, the talented husband-and-wife team behind Axiom Kitchen, recognized that not everyone in Long Beach had the opportunity to join the festivities. Driven by their commitment to inclusivity, they decided to continue the BBQ Month celebration by preparing and serving a gourmet meal to individuals struggling with homelessness.

The lunch event will take place at the Long Beach Rescue Mission Samaritan House located at 1335 Pacific Avenue, Long Beach. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the BBQ lunch will be skillfully prepared and served by renowned Pitmaster Ian and Qiana Mafnas of Axiom Kitchen Smoked Meats & BBQ, along with the participation of local chefs including Chef Ron Woods from Mac on Da Block and Cristal Lopez from LB HomeRun Dogs.

Qiana Mafnas expressed her enthusiasm for the event by saying, “We were thrilled with the overwhelming success of the recent BBQ Fest, but we also recognized that many of our fellow Long Beach residents were unable to attend and enjoy our passion for great BBQ that day. By serving a gourmet BBQ meal to our neighbors struggling with homelessness, we aim to bring the spirit of the Long Beach BBQ Fest to them and ensure that everyone can be a part of this event.”
