Cal Heights Neighborhood Furniture Swap

We’re Ghermayn and Christina, proud Cal Heights residents and business owners in the neighborhood. We run Point by Point Studio, a furniture repair shop that specializes in repairing and restoring cane, rattan, and other woven furniture.

With the generous support of Roxanne’s and the Cal Heights Business District, we’re excited to bring the community together for the first ever Cal Heights Neighborhood Furniture Swap! Unlike your typical secondhand market, where there’s a distinction between buyers and sellers, folks must bring at least one piece of furniture to participate. The event will run similar to a silent auction: you’ll be able to check out all of the other pieces in the marketplace, and then “bid” for items you’re interested in. At the end of the bidding period, we’ll leave it to you to determine the winning bid of your own furniture pieces, and then connect to sell/exchange!

Has your grandmother’s coffee table been collecting dust in the garage? Want to send off your set of beloved but unused Wegner chairs to a new home? Bring ’em to the swap to see what treasures may await you in exchange!

How to participate

(1) Purchase up to six (6) tickets: 1 ticket ?️ lets you bring in 1 piece of furniture ?

(2) On the morning of the swap, bring your furniture to Roxanne’s — we’ll assign you to a space and provide bid sheets for your pieces

(3) Stroll around the marketplace during the designated bidding period and find some treasures to bid on

(4) At the end of the bidding period, return to your furniture, pick a winning bid for each piece, and connect with the winner!

All ticket proceeds will go to Able ARTS Work — a local Long Beach non-profit fueling inclusive arts education & exploration for marginalized communities at adult day studios, PreK-12 schools & community spaces.
