Family Fun STEM Series

The library is partnering with Shared Science to bring a hands-on STEM series to community members at the Dana Neighborhood Library. Designed for families, these 30-minute sessions will introduce STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) principles in a fun, family-focused environment. No experience needed. Conversational language support in Spanish and Khmer offered. The Family Fun STEM series will be held on the last Saturday  March 26, 2022.

About Shared Science: Shared Science is a 501c3 educational nonprofit. We advocate for and deliver STEM learning opportunities to school-aged children (K-12) in the Greater Long Beach area, focusing on the engineering design process, early engineering and simple machines, basic circuitry, coding, and robotics. We tie all our topics to Next Generation Science Standards and a 5E delivery model. The earlier students are introduced to the language of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, in a fun and creative environment, the more likely their comfort with these topics as they become more complex. Our programs are designed to encourage students to continue on a lifelong pursuit that utilizes their STEM education.
