Event Details

Live Jazz music and poetry set the mood of our Harlem Renaissance-Style “Rent Party” to benefit We the People High School.

The Board of Directors of We the People High School cordially invites you to the official launch party and networking event for We the People, celebrating our shared history of community organizing and people power. Our high school opened in Fall 2020 during the pandemic in Long Beach, CA. Since that time we have welcomed students in grades 9-11 and created a phenomenal academic program where students are known, heard, and powerful.

Join us on site to celebrate Cesar Chavez Day and to show your support at our Harlem Renaissance Themed Rent Party. Featuring local singer and poet, Shy but Flyy, and saxophonist Jason Fabus and the “Fabus Four,” all proceeds go to programming at We the People High School. Food provided by Jazz it Up catering with signature drinks sponsored by Macallan Scotch and prepared by Chocolate Tenders, the mobile bartending service of celebrity mixologist and frequent Access Hollywood guest, Pia Days. In addition to food, drinks, and jazz we will also have an old school game room featuring Spades and Bidwhist. This is a great networking event with onsite donation opportunities.

We the People is a public charter high school and 501(c)3 non-profit organization located in Long Beach, CA. Rideshare is encouraged as parking is limited.

The mission of We the People High school is to equip this generation with the knowledge, tools and strategies to radically change the world for the better. Our motto: Be Known, Be Heard, Be Powerful. To learn more about our unique school model, visit our website: www. wethepeopleps.org.
