Event Details

Queer Scouts brings an evening for the community to learn about sexuality: history, culture, and policy over great food and drinks.

Liz sanchez (they/he), Adjunct Faculty; M.A., Sociology; B.A., Sociology, Minor: Queer Studies, will give an introduction to the topic of sexuality and speak on it in light of history, culture, and policy as means to further de-stigmatize the topic in our community. They will also host a Q&A and sex positivity forum thereafter. Our intention is to create a space for educational empowerment and community discourse. We hope to make this forum into a series to promote queer studies and accessible education. This event is a fundraiser to help Queer Scouts and Plantiitas purchase the materials to provide a queer youth workshop at the LA LGBT Center’s Models of Pride Conference on Oct. 22nd. Food and drink for purchase. Suggested donation of $10 to attend is appreciated! Please email queerscoutsunited@gmail.com if you would like to attend but cannot donate at this time. Please reach out for accessibility accommodations. Photo above by: Elisabeth Ohlson Wallin from the “Ecce Homo” exhibition.
