Started in 1984 to foster cooperation and mutual respect between the LGBT and greater Long Beach community, the Pride celebration quickly grew to become the 2nd largest revenue earning event for the city, attracting over 80,000 guests to their two-day festival. The organization maintains an office year round to continuously inject a sense of greater self-worth within the community. Over the past 31 years, Long Beach Pride has become a large philanthropic foundation which has funnelled over $1 Million back into the community in the form of grants and scholarships.
