Although not technically in Long Beach, Ten Mile Brewing in Signal Hill is certainly worth including here. A large, inviting tap room along with a welcoming communal atmosphere makes this brewery a wonderful destination. The father and son duo of Jesse and Dan Sundstrom have brewed a large variety of styles that will satisfy even the most discerning beer enthusiast. Ten Mile is one of the few breweries anywhere producing a Kentucky Common, one of only a handful of truly American styles. And while you’re there don’t forgot to say hello to Barley, the brewery’s furry four-legged family member.

Abigail Gibson, owner and groomer of Pawsitively Pet Grooming is a lifelong animal lover.  She has been grooming professionally for over 10 years. Her love and passion for animals started by training dogs for 4-H at the tender age of 8 and was soon found bringing home every stray in the neighborhood on a mission to reunite the pets with their owners.  Abigail discovered animal grooming at the age of 19 and the rest is history. She loves that she gets to work with dogs and cats everyday and has a soft spot for the aggressive or fearful pets. She has a special needs Chihuahua named Lucy (who you will see around the shop) and 2 cats named WallE and Eva.

Long Beach made history when we elected Mayor Robert Garcia in 2014. He is the first openly gay mayor to be elected in the city’s history and he comes with a long list of accolades. Before serving as mayor he was elected to the Long Beach City Council in 2009, then re-elected to a full four- year term in 2010. He also serves on the Senate Rules Committee and works to keep our coastline beautiful as one of the California Coastal Commissioners. Education has been a passion throughout his life and led him to pursue a Doctorate in Education; he’s taught at University of Southern California, Cal State Long Beach and Long Beach City College.
