There were so many things going on this week, we could barely narrow it down!  We even had to throw in a bonus event!  Get ready to be your best self with crafts, dancing, and fitness!  And remember to visit the LB Home Living website each week for that week’s top 5 events, brought to you by Long Beach Home + Living and ExploreLongBeach !

FREE MAMA CIRCLE

When: Wednesday January 22nd from 6 pm – 8 pm

Where: The Hangout, 2122 E 4th Street, Long Beach

Gather around the fire at The Hangout as they talk all things motherhood! Whether you are expecting, have a baby at home, or your kids are older, we all have things in common and need our “kula” (our tribe) to support us.  Join them to create a safe space for each other, ask and answer questions, discuss concerns, and set intentions for 2020. FOURTH FRIDAYS ON FOURTH STREET

When: Friday January 24th from 6 pm – 9 pm

Where:  4th Street from Temple to Cherry, Long Beach

The first Fourth Fridays of the year!!  Head to Retro Row this Friday because your fav businesses will be staying up late!  There will be artist and vendor pop-ups, food & drink specials, live music, and more!  There’s a bike valet if you choose to bike there and free trolley rides once you get there!  Head to their event page for additional details and don’t forget to follow them on their social channels so you can be the first to learn about upcoming events on Retro Row!

LBC FREE BOLLYWOOD KIDS AND FAMILY DANCE WORKSHOP

When: Saturday January 25th from 11 am – 12 pm

Where: City of Lakewood Bolivar Park, 3300 Del Amp Blvd, Lakewood

It’s a dance party!!  This Saturday, LBC Bollywood Kids is hosting a super fun workshop on Bollywood dance, music and Indian culture.  This is a beginner class that will introduce you and your children to the art of Indian Bollywood dancing. Enjoy music and fun with your kids! Bring your lawn chairs and wear comfortable clothes and shoes.  Refreshments and snacks provided, and there will be free street parking.  Visit the link below to RSVP and be sure to bring your ticket to the event, either printed or on your phone.

LUNAR NEW YEAR DRAGON PUPPET CRAFT

When: Saturday January 25th from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm

Where: Mark Twain Long Beach Public Library, 1401 E Anaheim St, Long Beach

Let’s get crafting!!  Celebrate the Lunar New Year with crafts and activities at Mark Twain Neighborhood Library!  This program is suitable for children ages 6 and up.  Check out their event page to learn more about this event and other fun family events at the library!

RUN LIKE IT’S RECESS 5K RUN/WALK, 1K KID RUN, AND TODDLER RUN

When: Sunday January 26th at 9 am

Where: El Dorado Park, 7550 E Spring St, Long Beach

It’s fitness time!  Head to El Dorado Park for the 10th Annual Run Like It’s Recess 5K Run/Walk, 1K, and Toddler Run. This is a great family friendly event. The morning will consist of a 5k run/walk, a 1k kids run, and the cutest toddler run ever!  Start times are as follows:  5K Start Time: 9 am, 1K Start Time: 10:15 am, and Toddler Run Start Time: 10:45. The whole side of El Dorado park (golden grove side/train and fire station side) will be closed to all other traffic. This is providing an even safer feel to the event along with now making it an all ability event as well!  They will also have a FREE pancake breakfast for those who sign up and a few other delicious options to eat along with some great local vendors and activities. This will be a great morning of moving and activities while also supporting Newcomb Academy K-8.  Register using the link below!

SoCAL MUSEUMS FREE-FOR-ALL-DAY

When: Saturday January 25th from 9 am – 5 pm

SoCal Museums presents the 15th Annual Museums Free-for-All. Over 40 museums—presenting art, cultural heritage, natural history, and science—will open their doors and invite visitors to attend free of charge.  Use the link below to see the list of participating museums and additional info about each of them!
