Celebrate reading and Hispanic Heritage at the Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library! Join us at our monthly #PopUpTown Social, held in the Learning Garden! This Thursday, we will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! There will be music, dancing, children’s entertainment, and food! Check out their website for more info!
Friday September 27th from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Get ready for another classic Fourth Fridays! This Friday, head to Retro Row between 6 and 9 pm to celebrate all things Long Beach! There will be extended store hours, food and drink specials, FREE trolly rides, live music, art shows, and more. This is a free all-ages event, so pack up the fam and head over. OKTOBERFEST ON PINE
Saturday September 28th from 2:00 pm – 11:00 pm
It’s the time of year again! Oktoberfest is finally here! Come one, come all, whether you’re into the beer, the music, or just the pretzels! Pine Ave in Long Beach will be hosting its take on this annual event, and it’s one you do not want to miss! There will be a beer garden, brats and pretzels, live music, an official mayor tap of the first keg, and a dozen participating restaurants featuring over 300 draft beers! There will also be traditional German games and activities for the whole family! Must be 21+ to drink beer but this event is for all ages. Put on your Bavarian best and head over this Saturday to enjoy this fall kickoff tradition. READY LONG BEACH
Saturday September 28th from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Are you ready?! Nobody ever expects a disaster, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be prepared. This event is a great opportunity to help your family prepare for emergencies, and it’s kid-friendly! There will be food, music, rides, prizes, and you fav LB vendors. Parking is free in Structure 1 (in front of the Pyramid.). This event will feature fire safety demonstrations, teach about emergency supplies and equipment, and inform you about where and how to take free life-saving courses. Saturday September 28th from 8:00 am – 2:30 pm
Are you ready to walk Rancho to Rancho?! This event is a great opportunity to get some exercise and see a huge portion of Long Beach at the same time. (Also, there’s beer at the end!) The 9.4-mile scenic walk connects the CSULB campus, Reservoir Hill, Hilltop Park in Signal Hill, Longview Point at Willow Springs Park and Rancho Los Cerritos. There will also be a 3.5-mile and 6-mile option available and all participants are invited to attend the 175th anniversary celebration of Rancho Los Cerritos at the end of the walk. Participants will be able to purchase food and bring proper identification to responsibly enjoy the beer garden refreshments. Shuttle services and water will be provided along the route. Only service dogs will be permitted.
