Our Favorite Long Beach Restaurants to Visit on Christmas Day

Avatar

Are you planning on spending Christmas out and about in Long Beach?  If you’re looking for food and drink options, we’ve got you covered!  Check out some of our favorite restaurants that will be open on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Don’t forget to visit the blog each week for more great content, brought to you by Long Beach Home + Living and ExploreLongBeach!

Fuego

The ultimate Christmas dinner with the best view can be found at Fuego.  Featuring entrees like char crusted filet mignon and pan seared Chilean sea bass, this dinner is the pinnacle of luxury.    There will also be live entertainment by Latin guitarist Andres.  But just because you’re dining oceanside doesn’t mean you won’t have a Christmas-y atmosphere!  With Christmas trees, holiday themed drinks, and the winter wonderland cabana, you’ll wonder why you ever spent Christmas anywhere else.

Dogz Bar and Grill

If burgers, tacos, and hot dogs – with any type of toppings you can imagine, is more your speed, head to Dogz on Christmas Day.  Dogz has a low-key vibe and there are plenty of TVs so you can watch all of the Christmas Day games at the same damn time. They also have the coldest beer in all of Long Beach so you can pretend you’re at the North Pole.

Location: 5300 2nd St.

Chen’s

Chinese food on Christmas Day is a tradition in many families. And Chen’s Chinese food is incredible!  They have a huge variety and the portions are beyond generous. Their family style dinner is a great option when you dine with a group because it comes with wonton soup, an appetizer, and one entree per person.  Don’t forget your fortune cookie to find out your fortune for the new year!

Open Sesame

Two words: Garlic. Sauce.  Open Sesame offers authentic Mediterranean food and this is another place with generous portions.  My personal favorite is their chicken shawarma plate, which comes with pita, salad, and dip.  They also have a ton of vegetarian options.  The garlic sauce is to die for, and it comes in handy if you’ll be encountering any vampires later.

Location: 5215 2nd St.

Panama Joe’s

I’ve spent many holidays at Panama Joe’s and have never had a bad time.  One of the great things about PJ’s is that the experience can really be whatever you want it to be.  Looking for a relaxing Christmas dinner?  Sit on the restaurant side and order one of their delicious Mexican entrees.  Want to be social?  Sit bar side and chat it up with some of the other regulars.  Trying to turn up?  Order a round of jello shots for your group.  Whatever you do, it will definitely be a Christmas to remember.
